The 1990 Ausone is a vintage that I have tasted half a dozen times

and that day may be closer than most people realize

even if it is missing a little complexity and mineralité toward the finish

bacon fat and black pepper as it makes its steady ascent

The linear backend is clearly in need of time to flesh out but the underlying material is clearly here to allow that to happen

2009 and 2010 are both outstanding Pomerol's

which features a very strong note of cloves and smoke

the 2000 is quite enjoyable tonight
