When I face the city

2018年から2021年までの4年間、史阳琨（シー・ヤンクン）は中国江蘇省の華西村、河南省の南渓村、山西省の大寨村の3つの村を撮影した。そこでの街並みや建物、人々の服装は、中国の他の小さな町と大差はない。写真はすべて日常の風景と人物である。村の空間は静かで、人物の姿勢や表情も穏やかだ。

そこで、2017年4月と7月、2回撮影をしのたです。その結果、急速な開発や発展によってこの地域の風景や人々のライフスタイルが変わりつつあることがわかりました。私は個人的な視点でこの島の変化を記録し、地元の人々と自然環境や文化遺産、そして現代文明との関係と、それらが新しい文化による影響のもとで、自分の位置付けがどのように変化していくかを明らかにしようとしています。
