Social media giant Twitter has recently admitted it found a bug that recorded users’ plain text passwords in its logs.

After investigating, Twitter claims the bug was only present on an internal system, it is now fixed, and that there is “no indication of a breach or misuse by anyone”.

That said, a Reuters source was quoted that the number of affected users was “substantial”, and that the bug was active for “several months”.

With over 330million users world wide, this still a real eye opener!

We’ll leave you with a some sage advice from Twitter Chief Executive Jack Dorsey.

“As a precaution, consider changing your password on all services where you’ve used this password.”
